Red Chili - Indian Restaurant Macau

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Update Jan 2014: This restaurant is no longer in operation. The following Indian food options are still open in Macau:
Red Chili - Indian Restaurant is located very near MGM Grand Casino at Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, 1287, Edf. Lei Keng C.C., R/C, Macau Phone: +853-2875-0867. The place is easy to locate. One needs to go towards the Sea from Wynn/MGM and turn left on the main road. MGM Grand's golden lion can be seen in the picture below. Red Chili is a perfect place for a relaxed late night dinner in a casual setting. This restaurant is open from 5.00 PM to 2.00 AM. If you are looking to have lunch, just walk a little more on the same road for "Taste of India" which is another Indian restaurant under the same management or Indian Spice a little ahead on the left. Red Chili serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian North Indian, Tandoori and sea food. The restaurant has a well stocked Bar too. Prices of food and drinks here may be a little lower or comparable with other Indian restaurants in town - Roti/Naan 18-25 HKD, vegetarian curries 50-70 HKD, and snacks between 35 and 65 HKD. Water along with the meal is served free. This is unique to the Taste of India chain in Macau. Also unique is the atmosphere at Red Chili, always casual and very relaxed. So much so that even the owners prefer to spend their evenings here after a hard day of labour managing their three Indian restaurants in Macau. (Taste of India has two branches - one on this road and another one in Fisherman's Wharf). Staff at all the TOI joints is excellent. Feel free to chat a little with them. They will make you feel at home instantly. (Red Chili pictures below) Best Money Exchange in Macau (Link opens in new window)

Palak Paneer at Red Chili Indian Restaurant Macau

I have been to Red Chili twice so far and have tried dal fry, Baingan Bharta, and Palak Paneer with tandoori roti all of which were really tasty. In general the food is very rich and spicy. Take a look at the cream added on top of palak paneer (65 HKD) in the above picture and you will get the idea.

I left my day job in October 2013 and became a full time blogger. I love travel and hence a travel blog was the obvious place to start from. The result is I currently live in Bengaluru, India. - Narinder Singh. (Email:
