Budget Hotel in Taipa Macau - Best Western Hotel Review

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Many times I have found that Best Western Taipa Hotel was the cheapest available hotel in Macau. I have stayed here twice during the last two years and had no serious complaints. During my first stay, I got a complimentary upgrade to Deluxe Room as part of an online offer. Second time, there was no free upgrade so I stayed in the Standard Room that I had booked. Amenities-wise, both the rooms were almost same. Deluxe Room was just a little bigger.  There was a usable tea/coffee maker but not much in terms of supplies, only two tea bags (green tea) were provided. No milk, no sugar. In addition, two small water bottles were given free every day. Wifi in the lobby was fast and free during my first stay in 2011 but it was not working during my stay in March 2012. Both the times I arrived before the official check-in time (14.00 hrs.), but got the room within a few minutes. This would, however, depend on availability. A polite request to the reception staff to speed up the room preparation may help. Best Western Taipa Hotel is located close to some of Macau's largest casinos such as The Venetian, City of Dreams, Sands Cotai Central, and Galaxy Macau. The area is well connected to Macau City which can be reached through public buses, taxis, and free casino shuttle bus services. A taxi ride to The Venetian from Best Western Taipa will cost 14 HKD, the lowest taxi fair. (Read more below) Best Money Exchange in Macau (Link opens in new window)

The bed was comfortable with a TV in the front. A sideboard, two chairs, a small coffee table, and a cupboard were provided in the standard room. Deluxe Room had a sofa, and a bigger TV. Bathroom and toiletries were similar in both the rooms. Hot and cold water was available 24 hours, and air conditioning was very effective.

Nearby Super Market

Super Market Near Best Western Hotel Macau (Taipa)

I could not locate any 7-Eleven close to Best Western Taipa, but instead found this super market, bigger and better than a 7-Eleven. It is located very close from the hotel but still may be hard to find. Roughly, one needs to go to the road diagonally opposite the hotel and turn right after a while.

Overall, Best Western Taipa Hotel provides all essentials at a very reasonable price.
