A. MRT Train from Singapore Changi Airport to City

The above three pictures show the way to the MRT Station. A subway connects Terminals 1 and 2 which is on one side of the arrival halls. Escalators go down to the MRT ticket counter from this subway as you can see in the middle picture above.
EZ-Link Smart Card
At the ticket counter, it will be better to buy an EZ-Link smart card that is a stored value card for paying for your rides on MRT trains and public buses in Singapore. Any leftover value can be encashed while leaving the country or used during your next trip to Singapore. First time cost of an EZ-Link card is 12 SGD out of which the usable value is 7 SGD. Subsequent top-ups can be done at all MRT stations for a minimum of 10 SGD.
MRT Airport - City Trains and Timings
|East West Line from Tanah Merah to Outram Park|
The MRT Airport - City Shuttle train service connects the Changi Airport to the Tanah Merah MRT Station on the East West Line that connects Pasir Ris to Joo Koon. Going from Tanah Merah towards Joo Koon, one can connect to the Circle Line at Paya Lebar, Downtown Line at Bugis, North South Line at Raffles Place and City Hall, and North East Line at Outram Park. Aljunied and Kallang Stations for going to the Geylang area are just four stations after Tanah Merah.
Timings from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah
Monday to Friday: There are a total of 107 services starting at 5.32 am and closing at 12.06 am.
Saturday: There are a total of 108 services starting at 5.32 am and closing at 12.06 am.
Sunday and Public Holidays: There are a total of 104 services starting at 5.59 am and closing at 12.06 am.
Important: To be able to connect to a city-bound train on the East West Line at Tanah Merah, one must take the latest train from the Airport to Tanah Merah at 11.18 pm.
Timings from Tanah Merah to Changi Airport
Monday to Friday: There are a total of 107 services starting at 5.19 am and closing at 11.51 pm.
Saturday: There are a total of 108 services starting at 5.19 am and closing at 11.51 pm.
Sunday and Public Holidays: There are a total of 104 services starting at 5.47 am and closing at 11.51 pm.
B. Public Buses
From Changi Airport to City
Public Bus number 36 can be taken from the basement bus bays of Terminals 1, 2, and 3 between 6.00 am and 11.00 pm. This one way ride takes about one hour and costs 2 SGD. The passengers need to tender exact change or use an EZ-Link card because no change is given by the driver.
From City to Changi Airport
Public bus number 36 can be boarded from several points in the city for going to any of the Terminals 1, 2 or 3 of Changi Airport.
C. Hotel Shuttle Bus Service
This shuttle bus service drops you from Changi Airport to your particular hotel in the city at 9 SGD per person (6 SGD for child below 12 years). Most downtown hotels are covered. Please check for the service to your hotel at the Ground Transport Desk. There is no extra charge for luggage. Maximum wait time for a hotel shuttle bus from the airport can be 15 minutes during peak hours (6.00 am to 9.00 am and 5.00 pm to 1.00 am) and 30 minutes during non-peak hours.
Hotel shuttle bus service can also be booked at your hotel's reception counter for your return trip from the hotel to the airport. The shuttle will pick you up from the hotel at the designated time. The cost for the return trip is also 9 SGD per head.
D. Taxi Service
Regular taxi service is available 24 hours from the airport. Approximate cost of this taxi ride from the airport
to the city (26 km) can vary from 23 SGD to 49 SGD depending on the type of the taxi and the peak / non-peak hours.
Taxi for Large Groups
A fixed charge taxi service for four passengers to anywhere in the city can be taken from the airport at a fixed charge of 55 SGD. Similarly a seven seater taxi can be taken from the airport to anywhere in the city at a fixed charge of 60 SGD.
