|Level 3: Food and Tea at Yue Hwa Chinese Products Chinatown Singapore|
The ground floor (L1) is dedicated to Chinese medicines. Language could be a problem on this floor because hardly anyone seemed to understand English there. L2 has apparel, embroidery, undergarments, beddings, shoes, and luggage. Food and tea are sold on L3 and that is where I found my Sichuan Pepper Corns. Fortunately someone in the staff was able to understand what I was looking for. A small packet, I think 28 grams, cost me SGD 3.00 (see the picture above). L4 of the building has Chinese handicrafts, antiques, porcelain, and L5 has antique Chinese furniture. There are quite a few things in this building that a common tourist like me can afford. One can surely take home a few surprises from here. Apart from the Sichuan Pepper, the huge variety of Pu-er tea cakes on display here caught my attention. My advice: buy discounted products and leave happy.
