Unlike the Jurong Bird Park which is the only attraction in its far-off location, the Singapore Zoo has company. There are the Night Safari and the River Safari in its neighbourhood. One can even buy "Park Hopper" tickets to see all the three (Zoo+Night Safari+River Safari) at a combined price of SGD 83 for adults and SGD 53 for kids (3-12 years), and save a few dollars as compared to buying individual entry tickets for the three attractions. Now that does not mean that you should see all three of them. In my humble opinion, the Night Safari is totally avoidable. River Safari, unlike its name, is not a safari but a huge aquarium. Yes there is a short 10-minute boat ride that you may get to enjoy if you get there early enough because it sells out fast. It costs an additional SGD 5 too. River Safari can also be avoided if you do not have the time or the inclination to spend so much money. The only worthwhile attraction here is the Singapore Zoo which is a must see for the whole family. Its "the world's best rainforest zoo". There are free animal shows daily in the zoo that multiply the fun. Keep reading for more...

Getting to the Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Night Safari
|Ang Mo Kio MRT Station Singapore|
The best way to get there is through a combination of an MRT Ride and a bus ride from the MRT stop. Its simple actually. Go to the "Ang Mo Kio" MRT Station which is on the North South (Red) Line. After getting down at Ang Mo Kio, you will see signboards like in the above picture with the words "Zoo and 138". The bus number 138 goes to the zoo/river & night safari. The bus interchange is at Level 1 of Ang Mo Kio Station. Go to Berth Number B1. There is a separate queue for 138.
