Cheaper Alternative to Hong Kong Airport Express, Hong Kong Station to Airport for 28.5 HKD Only

Thursday, June 25, 2015

If you are staying in a hotel near Hong Kong Station or Central Station, an easy and fast mode of travel to Hong Kong International Airport is the Airport Express Train that departs from Hong Kong Station. Let me clarify that Hong Kong Station and Central MTR Station are inter-connected via an underground pathway that takes 5-6 minutes to cross by foot. Airport Express Train runs from 5.54am to 0.48am daily and costs 100 HKD per person each way from/to Hong Kong Station. From Kowloon Station, the fare is 90 HKD, from Tsing Yi Station 60 HKD and from AsiaWorld Expo Station, it is 5 HKD. The journey from Hong Kong Station to Airport Station takes 24 minutes and that is useful when you are short on time. However, if you do have a little more time, how about doing the same trip at just 28.5 HKD? Time-wise, this cheaper trip will take about an hour but at least for me the extra time is worth the 71.5 HKD that I save. Keep reading for details...
