Mini Siam And Mini Europe Pattaya

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Mini Siam Pattaya is a theme park with mini replicas of important and famous buildings from Thailand and the rest of the world. The replicas are said to be at 1:25 scale but I don't think that is true for each of the replicas. There are two zones in the park - Mini Siam and Mini Europe. Mini Europe is a little misnomer because it has replicas of buildings from outside Europe also and because of that perhaps it should be called "rest of the world" zone. Anyway, the owners of the park call it Mini Europe. The park is located off Sukhumvit Road near North Pattaya intersection. To further clarify, one comes to Sukhumvit Road while travelling by bus or van from Bangkok to Pattaya. The North Pattaya Road intersection is the first stop of the bus/van where they drop tourists who have booked their hotels in North Pattaya. That means the location of this attraction is not very odd and it should be possible for a tourist in Pattaya to go to the park on their own using the cheap Baht bus or motor-bike taxi. This is important also. Almost every travel agent will end a conducted tour of the park by 6:00pm and ship you back to your hotel whereas the park (according to info on their website) organises daily Thai dance shows between 7.00pm and 8.00pm. The park itself is open everyday from 7.00am to 10.00pm. Keep reading...

Getting There

The organisers of the park claim to operate a Micro Bus to transport tourists from / to Pattaya at fixed times and intervals. For booking of tickets and this micro bus service, one may contact the park on their telephone numbers: 0-3872-7333 , 0-3872-7666 or their email ids - info@minisiam.com and marketing@minisiam.com

The micro bus service timings according to the attraction website are between 9.00am and 5.30pm. Again, if you are taking the micro bus, you will miss the dance shows. Another way of travelling to/from the park is to book a conducted tour with an agent in Pattaya in which case hotel transfers are provided by the agent.

Conducted Tours and Entry Fee

Half day or full day tours of the park are available at prices starting at 600 THB per person for adults and 400 THB for kids with height up to 120cm. Kids upto 90cm height are admitted free of charge. The tour price includes park entry fee. Both the park zones are covered in a single entry fee.

The entry fee of the park is not declared on the official website of Mini Siam. Hence, one needs to rely on secondary sources. In one place I read the official entry fee for foreign nationals at 300 THB whereas for Thai residents the fee is said to be 200 THB. Official fee for kids again is perhaps 150 THB but cannot be sure of that.

Discounted Entry Fee

Lucky for us, an online booking option for this and many other attractions in Pattaya is available where one can buy discounted entry tickets. Please note that I am not endorsing this website but only mentioning it because it appears to be good. Please do your own due diligence before making any purchase. The website offering discounted entry tickets is: http://www.hotels2thailand.com/pattaya-day-trips/Mini-Siam-Pattaya.asp (copy and paste this link in your browser). According to hotels2thailand.com, there are separate prices for Thai residents, Korean residents, Asian residents other than Thai, Indian, & Korean, and then for European, African, Indian, Canadian, Australian, and Japanese residents. Sounds complicated but a visit to the link I mentioned above will make it all clear. Only entry fee tickets are being offered by hotels2thailand.com and no transfers are included in the price. The highest discounted entry fee for kids is 97 THB and for adults it is 195 THB. Hotels2thailand.com also sells discounted tickets and tours for The Sanctuary of Truth Pattaya.

What To Expect

Cathedral Group of Pisa Mini Siam Pattaya

Mini Siam has replicas of famous Thai attractions such as Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Arun, Historical Park of Ayuthaya, and Victory monument, among others. Mini Europe has replicas of Arc De Triomphe (France), Eiffel Tower (France), Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy), Colosseum (Italy), Tower Bridge (England), Opera House (Australia), The Statue of Liberty (USA), and Angkor Wat (Cambodia), among others. Just remember that all these are mini replicas. After nightfall, the replicas get illuminated adding a special charm to the views. And if the promised Thai dance shows are also there, staying late in the park may be a real good idea. Official website: http://www.minisiam.com/index_eng.html
