Boat in Victoria Harbor of Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of China, similar to Macau, and both are located within an hour’s journey by ferry. Ferry services operate from Hong Kong city as well as from the Hong Kong Internation Airport. For many tourists, a trip to Hong Kong also includes a trip to Macau. You may read my travel articles on Macau here.

Hong Kong may seem a little difficult for a first time traveler but if one spares a little time for reading the basics before getting there, Hong Kong is actually easy. There maybe some language problem every now and then but many people there speak and understand English. From a tourism point of view, Hong Kong has everything for a family. There is Disneyland for the kids, an exciting cable car for the thrill seeker, Star Ferry for the heritage lovers, street shops of Jordan for the casual shopper, and Chinese temples for culture lovers. And this is just a glimpse into what all Hong Kong has to offer. There are many more attractions enough to keep a tourist busy for a week.

Visitors from Most countries get free visa on arrival at Hong Kong international airport. Indian nationals, though, need to do an online pre-arrival registration. I have visited Hong Kong several times when there was no pre-arrival registration required for Indian nationals. After that change I have yet to visit Hong Kong but some day, probably in 2018, I will.

Here I have given a list of the articles that I have published on my travel experiences in Hong Kong:
