Nepal borders China and India and has eight of the ten tallest mountains in the world including Mount Everest. Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, is in Nepal. Apart from that, its capital city Kathmandu has some historically and culturally important temples, very old heritage buildings (Durbar Square), and a very popular tourist district called Thamel. Nepal was once a popular hippie destination and continued to be so until a devestating earthquake in the year 2015 wiped out many of the old red brick structures in Kathmandu. Nepal is an inexpensive tourist destination where tourists can find nice food, value shopping, and cheap massage.

Well, to confess, I have not visited Nepal after the earthquake and the articles that I share here were written before that. I hope to visit Nepal again soon so that I can update everything:
