The Night Bazaar of Chiang Mai is an area with shopping and more shopping on either side of Chang Klan Road. Now Chang Klan Road extends beyond this area but if you see McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Burger King around you, you are in the middle of the Night Bazaar of Chiang Mai. There is the original Night Bazaar Building, the Kalare Night Bazaar Building, a few other establishments calling themselves Night Bazaar, and of course the Anusarn Market. If you do not want to get confused going from one so-called Night Bazaar to the other, just head to Anusarn Market. This partly open and partly covered market area is really huge and certainly has the best of everything that you can find anywhere else in the Night Bazaar area. If you are standing facing McDonald’s, Anusarn Market is to your right on the same side of the road as McDonald’s. Inside Anusarn, a riot of color awaits you in the form of food stalls, pizza joints, seafood restaurants, Indian & Arabic food, bars with loud music, road-side & proper shops, and even massage shops too. All these attractions come to life after sundown (6.30pm) and remain open up to midnight.
Entertainment in Anusarn Market
Apart from food and shopping, Anusarn Market has entertainment options like an on-the-spot portrait of you or your child, and even a Cabaret show similar to Tiffany’s in Pattaya. I think the cabaret starts at 8.00pm. I don’t know how good the cabaret show is but otherwise, spending a couple of hours in Anusarn Market is sure to be a rewarding experience.
